Responsive teaching
Remember that the teacher learns the most - so make the students teach. Model how they can sit - side by side, facing opposite direction. One reads and explains and then the other. Paired students can do this and you can too! Students will love having their turn with you. This works very effectively with content areas such as Social Studies and Science.

This is one of the many teaching tools that work very well. Varying the groups of students to read or research keeps things fresh and interesting!! At the elementary level the students do actually enjoy reading with the teacher. Thanks for the great tip.
ReplyDeleteI do this a lot in Enriched Math. When the students work to solve challenge problems, I have them work in partners-they take turns explaining the process to each other. Great strategy!
